LAFAYETTE HOUSE CELEBRATES MOTHER’S DAY WITH A THANK YOU!
During the month of May we are celebrating mothers and the difference they make in our lives!
This month, Lafayette House is pleased to announce the receipt of a Mother’s Day gift in memory of Jeanne Ann McPherson Pate, a longtime resident of Joplin and community volunteer. The gift was made by Mrs. Pate’s daughter, Melissa Ann Pate Sanders and granddaughter Jean Elise McPherson Sanders. The $100,000 gift, designated for domestic violence shelter and support, will be used primarily to renovate and upgrade part of Lafayette House’s domestic violence shelter.
“I’m haunted by stories I’ve heard of the generational legacy of abuse and I feel passionately about the mission of Lafayette House to help break that cycle,” said Melissa Sanders. “I hope others will join me in contributing to the vital work they do by volunteering or donating this Mother’s Day. The brave women who have made the step of coming to Lafayette House to help ensure a brighter future for themselves and their children deserve our support.”
